Exposure to UV irradiation can generate many markers of cell damage. These markers include DNA damage, loss of cell viability, and the generation of intracellular reactive oxygen species. Materials which can reduce these markers of UV damage may have UV protective abilities. BioInnovation Laboratories has experimental models using cultured cells or 3D skin tissue systems designed to address these markers of UV damage.
